Teeth Whitening Products
In the past decade, teeth whitening products have swiftly moved from being niche items to some of the best selling health products on the market. As many people smoke, drink coffee and eat acidic foods, they begin to notice that the color of their teeth changes from stark-white to a more yellowish color. Teeth whitening products have the ability to reverse this process, and are a safe first step towards a brighter you.
Teeth whitening products come in a variety of different forms. Perhaps the most famous of these is the whitening strip. Whitening strips are available from several different companies, and while marketing would have you believe differently, they all basically follow the same methods of action. Instructions for these products will generally tell you to apply the whitening strips to the front of your top and bottom teeth twice a day for thirty minutes between meals. Many people use whitening strips to great effect. Some people experience discomfort from using them, however, as you cannot smoke, eat or drink while they are still on your teeth. For these people, there are other options.
These days, many toothpastes advertise themselves as being teeth whitening products as well as cleaning agents. While some are more effective than others, there are many toothpastes that are specifically made to whiten teeth and are generally considered to work. The advantage of using whitening strips is that they work in as little as two weeks. Whitening toothpaste, however, can take a great deal of time to produce a notable difference in the color of your teeth. However, the idea is that you will be brushing your teeth three times a day to begin with, and that the whitening aspect is no more than a pleasant addition. Many people swear by whitening toothpastes and continue to use them for years to great effect.
Also available on the market are whitening gels that work in similar ways to whitening strips. These gels are to be rubbed onto the teeth and left to sit for a half hour at a time. While these gels have yet to reach the popularity of other teeth whitening products, they are slowly gaining steam. If you have not had luck with other teeth whitening products, gels are certainly worth your attention.
